Overview
Emergencies catch you by surprise whether you're at home or on the go. The 5Star Service offered with the Splash medical alert system from GreatCall will help you be ready anywhere, any time. When you push the help button on your Splash, two-way communication will immediately be established with an NAED Certified Agent who will speak to you directly through the device. The sophisticated, patented GPS technology will be able to pinpoint your location which will be verified by the agent. After assessing the situation, the Certified Agent will then be able to assist you with such things as sending EMS professionals, calling a locksmith, connecting you to a nurse or doctor, calling roadside assistance and so much more. The Agent will then stay in communication with you to help you through your situation intil the help you need arrives.
Features
The GreatCall Splash system is loaded with beneficial features designed to help you get the most out of your device and service. As a portable unit, the slim design makes it easy to carry with you wherever you go, and it works throughout the country, not just in your home. The waterproof unit is IPX7 certified which means it can be completely submerged in up to three feet of water for up to 30 minutes and still work. Feel safe to take it with you on the shower or while swimming. A drop in charger is included which means you won't have to worry about adding an additional cord to the multitude of cords most people have throughout the house.
Additional Information
The GreatCall Splash portable and mobile unit allows you to speak directly to agents directly through the device. Providing personal information ahead of time will better enable any agent to provide EMS with pertinent medical information in order to better assist you. An upgraded plan gives you the ability to speak directly to doctors or nurses 24 hours per day, seven days per week with out any deductible or copay.

BEST ON THE MARKET
This is definitely the best medical alert device on the market that money can buy. I've had the opportunity to use mine several times. They can call your wife on a "conference" style call as well as other numbers that you have predetermined.
The device has GPS which is a wonderful tool for my family. In the event that I've fallen or have an accident and it calls them, they know where I'm at right away. I feel so secure, yet so independent for the first time. This thing is absolutely wonderful. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE OTHER MEDICAL ALERTS WITH MONTHLY PREMIUMS AND CONTRACTS.
Great low-cost alternative to my old medical alert
I used to pay nearly $40/mo for something that sat on the table next to my lounge chair. Watching TV one night I saw this greatcall doodad advertised and thought I'd give it a shot, seeing as my three year contract with the other company was just about over (finally).
Here's my thoughts
It's a very convenient device, when you remember to grab it. It's small, light and wearable which would be great if I could remember to put it on.
When the battery is low it beeps to remind you, that's actually how I found it when I lost it the last time. It's very easy to use and even when I've accidentally pressed the button, help has answered within a matter of seconds.
I can't believe this costs less than the others
I'm still looking for the downside to this device. Although I paid more than the price that's advertised above (I payed $50), it's still less than almost everything else I compared it to. My monthly service fee is only $14.99, compared to the nearly $40.00 per month that the other companies were wanting to charge me.
Originally bought it for my husband that has parkinsons so that I would feel safe leaving him home alone when I went to the store. Now I've got one for myself as well, realizing that I'm not as young as I thought I was. My kids are on the call list so that if there's an emergency they can be called and come over right away. I'm on the call list for my husbands device which notifies me right away if there's a problem at home. I can't recommend this Splash device enough.
It's wonderful to feel this security
After my husband passed away, my children were always calling and checking on me to make sure I was okay. If they didn't hear from me for a day or two, they'd stop by and check on me. Although I appreciate their concerns, I often found it annoying that they would feel the need to stop in un-announced only to find me sitting and doing a puzzle or browsing the internet.
I'm 76 years young and am still driving, cooking and cleaning up after myself. Overall I'm in good health and have never had the misfortune of needing to use this little device or the 5Star services that I pay for. However, I find great comfort in knowing that it's there if I need it. We've tested it several times to make sure it's still working and it's never failed on us when my daughter makes me check it.
My children are probably more relieved that they don't have to constantly check on me. Since I've had this, it seems like they enjoy their visits with me more and aren't doing it out of what they feel is a necessity.
These aren't just for seniors
I'm 30 years old, so not exactly a Senior. Actually, I found this site while looking for some accessories for the GreatCall Splash. I just needed to add my input, as I have to carry this around with me on a daily basis.
About me: I'm 30 years old as stated above, wheelchair bound with MS.
When looking into getting a medical alert, I was embarrassed at the fact that my friends would see some goofy thing that looked like an old answering machine sitting on my end table. My mom found the Splash for me in some magazine she subscribes to. It looks like a cell phone, and isn't embarrassing to carry around. I'm not homebound, so I do get out and do things still (as much as I can). The thought of only having protection at home and spending so much per month was just ridiculous. I'm happy to have this and I'm thankful to GreatCall for making a device that isn't embarrassing to carry with me wherever I go. I know it's obvious that I appear disabled, but I don't want some ugly thing tethered to me that reiterates that fact.
